Just flashed my N800 with the latest (SD card problem fixed) firmware.
Installed Video Center. All went ok, except for the fact that Video Center doesn't want to launch.
I select it from the Extras menu and all it tells me is: "Video center loading" and then nothing.

This may sound ridiculous since we are talking about a Linux based IT BUT since I couldn't figure out which service might need to be re-started, etc... I simply power-cycled my N800 when I encountered this same problem and it has worked just fine ever since. I'm ready to accept the flames about this being a "Microsoft answer" but it DID work in my case.

Does your file manager work? If so, try delete VC folder see whether that solves the problem. If not delete ALL VC files/folders, dont forget the Document/VC folder, I think all 4 of them, that should solve the problem.

I deleted the whole VC folder. That did the trick.

Video center does not start for me after a install of latest firmware...

ok, I dug some more..

I used X terminal and ran MC

then I found a folder called videocenter and deleted it.

now the app works again

- I really need to find a 'Linux for Dummies' book! Or maybe a filemanager with a gui that shows me more than just what Nokia think I should see!
