Update 3: Cleared settings of osso-addressbook, it's launching again.
Update 2: Still can't launch Contacts.
Update: After reboot it seems to work fine.

It started three hours ago.
Almost all applets disappeared, (only 4 of them left, don't remember exactly which), so I decided to reboot my N900. After it started I tried to call my friend but there was no sound.
So I rebooted from power kernel to standard - sound was there, I've contacted my friend and headed to meeting place listening Cloudkicker.
After approximately one hour I felt vibro - N900 rebooted for some unknown reason in my pocket. I had no time to bother so just switched it off after start.
After end of meeting I switched it on and there is no sound at all and I continuosly get yellow notifications "Internal error. Application 'Contacts' closed."
I can't play any music, it says that "This format is not supported", I can't hear nor speak while calling, osso-addressbook (Is that command used for Contacts?) stops with strange error:
~ $ osso-addressbook
**
ERROR:menu-extension.c:146verride_visible_func_idle_cb: assertion failed: (view != NULL)
Aborted
So.
How can I start sound server manually to find out what's wrong or where are logs showing it?

False alarm. I hope so.
After another two reboots everything is fine on both kernels.
Strange.
Anyway, thank you for help, if the situation repeats I'll try it.

No, not everything.
Sound is back, but contacts still failing.
The two things that could have caused this are:
1) I deleted ~/.rtcom-eventlogger/*.db to get sms history saving back. It was two days ago.
2) And today I switched sort order of Contacts from Alphabetical to Recent.

Hi,

Just a question, have you tried this modifications before the problem come : http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...ighlight=boost

I have same problem of pulseaudio not running after applying these modifications and rebooting (until rebooting all goes well) ...

A++

No, I didn't.
However, pulseaudio is stable again for third reboot now.
But I still can't view Contacts. Searching a way to reset it's sorting.
Maybe somewhere in gconf?

Code:
gconftool-2 --set --type int /apps/osso-addressbook/contact-order 1
didn't help, but
Code:
gconftool-2 --recursive-unset /apps/osso-addressbook
finally fixed the issue.
Didn't think that these beautiful yellow notifications will annoy me ever. Till yesterday

But addressbook still fails after 5 minutes of working with "Recent" sort order.

Found the reason of <b>Contacts</b> failing - it's <b>extended-contacts-search</b>. Sent message to the author.
