Android gaming is about the change in a BIG way! Unity 3 has been released and soon will support Android as a compilation target:

Unity 3D is the environment behind many, many indie and studio games.

A screen protector IS NOT A BULLETPROOF JACKET. :P

This is a cute official promo for the Galaxy Tab. It's called: Extreme Retreat-Andes

Enjoy!

The Wall street journal app is becoming Tablet-ized, thanks in no part to the ensuing Tab popularity, and likely the trivial nature of becoming 'tabletized' in the first place:

Expect many more companies to follow suit very soon.

I've been sitting here, thinking about the Galaxy Tab and the upcoming Gingerbread release. One of the little discussed features is the voice command API.

For those that don't know, here's a video of it in action:

This is a VERY cool feature, that when coupled with scripting potentially could automate nearly any task via voice. Imagine walking into the house, and saying something like 'play some soft music' into the device (via BT headset or speaker), and having the music start playing as well as the lights dim. Wonderful!

What about composing and sending an email while flipping burgers on the grill (veggie burgers for the vegan among you)? What about composing a calendar reminder by saying it, rather than typing it in? How about requesting that your feeds be read to you?

I can also see the dangers of it, too, though. Especially for the elderly who still hadn't exposed themselves to the experience of the Internet. For example, imagine your parents walk into the house and your dad thinks aloud to his wife, "I need to find out whether latex paint will bond with my stucco wall outside my lovely home." So he asks his Android-enabled house:

"Andy, look up 'latex bondage'"

These things will probably not see the light of day ever or anytime in the forseeable future but Samsung has some mad cool prototypes. Not least of all the dual clamshell display and the folding amoled display, both of which I would love to have (possibly in equal measure of love).

YUM! This looks incredible. The 7" SAMOLED makes me hot, and the folding SAMOLED is too cool for words!

Since we're on the topic of what's coming next, it seems that Samsung's licensed the latest ARM graphics core (Mali T604) for its upcoming SoCs.

If this thing is the same thing that they were boasting would be in the Orion chipset, then get ready for 5x the graphics performance of the current hummingbird SGX540! Wow!

Any thoughts on how this would affect battery life? It is a shame that all tech aspects of portable devices are moving forward at such an impressive pace, save for battery performance.
