After much agonizing thought (N800 vs. N810), I just ordered an N800 and two 8GB SD cards. I'm looking forward to the device. I'll be using it for media playback and ebooks.

I know I'll have questions

My initial project will be to set up the toolchain to compile software on my Kubuntu box. I don't expect I'll be doing much until I upgrade to OS2008 next month.

Long-term, I'd like to port medical J2ME software (arterial blood-gas interpretation and other clinical algorithms) I've written to this platform. I've never been a C/C++ coder, so I'm looking forward to the challenge.

I also just bought a N800 today..:-) I was thinking about the N810, but I want FM radio and don`t need gps.. they keyboard intergrated is something I probably could live without. Others have lived with the N800 before right.. so why not me. and with OS2008 and similar HW with not so bad price.

It came to 400$ with shipping and taxes from a Norwegian retailer. I could have paid less on Ebay, but I would not have easy task if it should be any fault on the device.
If I really like the N800 and find lot of use for it I could rather buy N810 next christmas instead of this year.. then there probably would come N800/10 Wimax or other models anyway.
