Ok, now how about power schemes? Can I have always on display when on AC power and dim/off display on battery?

You'll need to install acmonitor. Then just set your display timeouts to your liking on AC, then unplug and set them on battery. You can also set different brightness levels, and it will remember those too. I've been using it for several months over multiple firmware releases with no problems.

Just installed acmonitor. This is great! Just what I've beem looking for. I came from a Windows Mobile pda, and thought the N800 needed something like this. Thanks for the info.
