What'll help with the context is did, at the time of the quote (January 2010), the N900 already have a version of Ovi Maps? If it did, then I'll grant that it seems to imply it will be getting the new version like the other phones, if not then it just sounds like it will be getting a version of Ovi Maps.
I think the question will be... what version of Maemo will it be then? The current version or something else?

If something else, then what may that be?

shame for nokia, selling phones without supporting. what they want is OUR MONEY, good advertisements, good devices, BUT lacking of apps and games, ruin of battery.
who on earth want that phone. I will never buy any phone from Nokia again until they change their service. Nokia should listen to their customers, then doing things by themselves.

I have read this whole thread and have yet to find ONE example of where Maemo 5 is not supported. PR 1.3 was just recently rolled out and there have been no indications yet as to whether or not PR 1.4 will come.

And no, not getting the latest version of maps, flash etc does not count as "no support". Neither does not providing source for the various closed source bits (as much as it does suck).

So yes, you can say Maemo 5 has been deprioritized by Nokia and treated like a bastard son. But saying it is unsupported is an outright lie.

Please read what I've written. There is no implication in the quote from Anssi Vanjoki that the version for Maemo will be 3.03 with voice navigation, just simply Ovi Maps.

I read the link and unlike you I actually read past the title to the real content. Read the quote from Anssi Vanjoki carefully and tell me which part explicitly states the version for Maemo will be the same as the one for Symbian or that the version for Maemo will have voice navigation.

He might have said it, but Anssi Vanjoki has left Nokia. Things have changed since then.

If it comes, so be it. But to be honest, for it to come, it would be so late in the game, I would be utterly surprised if it did.

I wouldn't expect anything less from a niche early adopter device
