okay i just installed the kernel and changed the cpu speed to 900. should i have SMART REFLEX enabled? also should i have BQ27x00 battery module checked off?

what will be best for me to conserve batt power? i had read that a lot of the new apps and kernels are really good on conserving battery power. thanks in advance!

i also realized that if i reboot the cpu speed drops back to 600. is that normal?

unless you take steps the overclock is temporary and normal. the bq27x00 battery module is good as it gives better info. Beware of Smart Reflex it may cause spontaneous reboots. No harm done if it does so try. Worka for some n900s but not others.

I tried without the Titan kernel. It works. I tried to under-clock the CPU to 500 and the N900 still worked fine and swappy. Ad-hoc network very smooth with this clocking too. Just cannot tell if any battery is saved at all with underclocking.

You can try it with your kernel, in rootshell type apt-get install iproute iptables. Also I don't think this script is for newbees and I think it is better to install it with kernel-power. At least it is private collection of my phone and it makes it superfast - I'm not sure if I want to share this all!
Thanks for sharing. I installed like you said, but without the Titan Kernel. The installer says "Setting up iproute", and "Setting up iptables" and finishes. But what does the script do I can't tell. Neither am I able to check if my N900 is faster or not.

Please give me some light.

yes im with you. it was decent before and now im not sure if its really better at all. certainly isnt slower but im not seeing a dramatic increase in speed overall. I wanted it primarily for mypaint to speed it up and improve its performance

Thank you for trying! That's awesome! I have changed some parameters in tune-up. This should make it better. About the network, you must believe me, it is for poweruser, bittorrent and surfing at the same time, it is for many connection. Also I put a lot of pressure to TCP-stack meaning I reduced some timing. Also it rejects many packets in your network. For example it doesn't forward any packets for other anymore which is a key feature of the internet. It's call free-ride. Also you can watch and analyze the traffic with the monitor. About benchmark I tried the site I have mentioned in my tutorial. It's not that dramatic. And with bittorrent I get very high dl like 500-600 kb/s. That's fast. If you want faster install pref.js and mount-opts, too. Don't forget that my scripts are considered as aggressive optimization. Also I pause in developement of this script.

That's the Titan kernel. I wasn't saying trust the kernel, I was saying trust comments by Titan and Jakiman. Though trusting the kernel is also a good idea

Now you mentioned it I did see some better change when surfing the net. Because I changed the ad-hoc channel from automatic to a specific chennel about the time I installed your scripts I thought the change helps. However, page loading is much faster both on ad-hoc (my homemade network) or 3.5G so it must be thanks to the scripts.

I am not fancy with torrent on N900. I just want pages to be loaded quicker, especially flash video or maps or pages with pictures.

It would be better to have some GUI to know what the scripts do, but I guess GUI will occupy some RAM and will make the N900 slower. But I trust you. I haven't seen any developer in this community spreading scripts or apps that harm the N900 on purpose and hope things stay that way. I trust and want to always trust this community.

I am still in two minds about installing the kernel46 again. It is tempting and I don't care about reflashing. Just that I have not seen it worth for me. I use DrSNES, not PSX4ALL, I don't fancy Debian or USB host, I like longer battery than overclocking, I would love to try Nitdroid but I can't afford rebooting to make call or take pictures. Ipv4 is fast enough for a phone, ipv6 is not even good with windows 7. And if you can bring along a keyboard for N900, you can bring a laptop or smaller, an Ipad.

In all, I just want a stable improvement version for the omap1, the one that includes something like swappolube and your scrips for faster internet, and some tweaks to improve battery life. Power46 kernel is too much. Do the scripts work well on power46 kernel, anyway?

Thank you for sharing and Merry Christmas to ALL
