N900 prices will never go up.

You can always buy one when you need it for cheaper than they're selling for now.

Even if they're out of stocks in stores, you can find them in secondhand market for even less.

I think there will be enough signs (closeout sales, notice from other shops/countries, etc) before n900 stocks in the market truly runs out.

Use your brain, don't get consumed by fear.

I doubt it will drop any much in price now. Discontinued items rarely do, despite what one might think. Why? Because dropping the price means some human using work hours on old stock instead of selling new stock. Once they're discontinued, items often remain at the same price, until the cheapest supplier removes it from the price list, at which time the price will rise, and again when the 2nd cheapest supplier removes it from the price list.

Take a look at any item you considered buying 1.5 - 2 years ago. See if you can find a price for it now. Is it much cheaper? I doubt it. Some might have a sale to empty their stock, but if they do, they actually lose money on not selling another, full price item.

That said, I can't see any reason to own to cell phones of the same model.

Now Nokia has discontiued N900 and they are not selling it any more in the official vendor shops. I could still get one from the unofficial shops tho', and the price has dropped from US500 to US380.

Should I buy and keep one more N900 or just wait for the next new model?
I think your decistion is pretty easy and I don't see why you need to post this thread at all.

You love the phone. You think its the best phone in you ever had. Its cheap.

Just buy one!

I would read around and see what is happening in the market place. Don't read this forum, read the other websites as well.

Meego is a new OS, like Maemo 5 was when the N900 was released. Which means despite the best will in the world and the fanboys on this website. Meego will come out with the same developer bugs that every other new OS has. Probably more as I think it will be rushed as Nokia really dropped the ball and bad publicity is hard to shake off.

Meego might be a great OS, but with Nokia at the helm?

Take in the past history of support from Nokia. Who announced in 2010 the removal of support for Maemo and also withdrew Symbian from the open source world to keep it in house, with dubious futures for Symbian jobs and support. A new CEO of hte organisation and rumours of winmo 7 being supported as one of their future OS's of choice.

Bear it in mind when keeping hold of the N900. Meego isn't supported on it, and won't be. It is a dead format and platform with no future beyond this forum and one device.

I'll bet $10 (payable via paypal) that the n900 will at least hit prices in the $200s (BNIB, retail) before it goes out of stock everywhere.

What do you win if somebody were willing to bet?

Yes you should. Go and buy a new one and give old one to me.
