I just used Nokia PC Suite to hook up to my N900. Last time I did this, which was a week or so ago, PC suite downloaded an update. Now, it seems I can see SMS messages from the Suite and I just tested a send as well. It works! I was surprised. I don't think this was there before, was it?

I wonder if the mobility API is beginning to show here.

Yes, since PR 1.3 both PC Suite and Ovi Suite already support SMS for N900, even before the latest PC Suite update

Weird, I could've sworn I couldn't see or even send SMS from my PC before tonight. It is very useful.

I've been ignoring that update for a few days now. Does it allow you to backup SMS?

No, I'm pretty sure that since I got PR 1.3 on my N900, PC Suite start to showing SMS's in its Communication Centre (also with Ovi Suite), but not IM's messages unfortunately

I don't know about sending SMS from PC Suite though, never tried that
