When you say it won't flash, what happens? Error messages?

When it dropped, did the reboot issue start then? Was everything before that ok and running fine?

Also try renaming the thread title to something more descriptive as it'll help people know what the post is about

Try flashing again but note these steps (the ones about removing the battery first)

http://wiki.maemo.org/Updating_the_t...ng_the_Flasher
# If you cannot establish a connection with N900, do following steps:

1. (try to) Turn off the device - if nothing else helps, holding power key for >8s is the ultimate means (except next point 2.) to do this.
2. Remove the battery - even if you were not able to shut device down in 1.
3. Start flasher with above mentioned command to flash (without -R, it's a useless convenience thing). It says "Suitable device not found... waiting"
4. Plug the device to computer with a good USB cable.
5. Insert battery while holding "u" key. You can release the key as soon as screen turns on and shows the USB logo. Flashing shall start automatically.
6. (after flashing has finished, remove battery ->(1.) 2.)
7. Repeat same procedure for each image to flash (sequence: eMMC first, then rootfs). So far this procedure always worked, given your PC side has no problems.
8. After flashing unplug your device from USB prior to first boot (first boot can take several minutes, and screen may turn dark during that. You may try lock-slider switch, but do not power down device during first boot, until it finally finished. Plugging in the wallcharger is a good idea)

If its been dropped that would not be a reason for the OS to be faulty all of a sudden, the problem is hardware and i hope he got insurance !.

Hey bro I was also having the same problem after I uninstalled the power kernel from app manger and unfortunatley it didnt got uninstalled after some time my battrey went down , when i charged it it started and rboted with a vibration
*charge your phone through wall adapter ,I know it will boot and bot again let it be phone still gets charged up leave it for an hour
*remove battrey and then reinsert it after 10 sec open ur key board press u then insert usb(keep holding the u)
*keep ur flasher ready with all the commands as soon as the phone starts up press enter then it will get flashed (u can leave u as it is detected by the system)
let me know

I think that a pin has become loose when your dropped your phone, causing a component not to respond to Maemo's system calls.

Can it be fixed?
By an experienced person, perhaps, but I wouldn't count on it.

Edit:
Call Nokia support.

ouch!
same thing happened with me!
after that i dropped my n900 on the floor it started to reboot, but unlike you neither the battery nor the sim card popped out!
the phone kept restarting (for about 5 minutes) and then shut down with an error message.
what i did is that i sent it to nokia care, apparently what they have done is that they re flashed my n900 which solved the rebooting problem but another problem came in, the internal mmc card was not found by the n900!
so i resent it to nokia care and they said that it cannot be fixed!
so i was left with a bricked phone... i couldn't open the camera application or any other application because there was not enough memory, i couldn't even send sms or add new contacts to my phone!
what i did is i searched the net for a solution and i found that you can make your sd card work as a swap memory so i got an 8gb memory and formated it on linux (ubuntu) made 1 gb swap memory and the rest as normal memory and i installed rootsh on the phone and then activated the swap on to the sd card from the x terminal..
my only problem now is that i cannot install new applications on the phone or new themes and every time i restart the phone i have to go to the x terminal and repeat the swap on process!
i hope that you don't have a bricked mmc like i do but if you do this is your only solution...
