Pause of playback when headset is disconnected is also planned for the next version..

I have quickly tried to look at the cause of music playback stopping for a short while when pressing the power button. It seems that this issue does not occur with e.g., the stock media player (or mediabox). However it seems to occur with e.g., QSpot and SomePlayer. One possible reason could be that the stock media player utilizes Mafw for playback (while e.g., QSpot uses pulseaudio directly). Anyway, this was just a short note; some more investigation is still needed.

Thank you for this great app, which I use a lot. It is very intuitive and quite stable. I am looking forward to features such as bluetooth headphone control and the possibility of being able to change volume, when the screen is blanked out.

There is one feature request that remains for me. When I use the app in my car and the 3g network connection is lost and subsequently automatically reconnects, I have to login manually. The same happens when I arrive at home and my phone switches to wifi, as it is set up to do. Would it be possible (as an option) to automatticly relogin when this occurs. If possible, this option should of course only be available when Qspot is allowed to remember the login credentials.

One more thing, that came to my mind when browsing the desktop-client of Spotify : add support for Playlist folders. See screenshot attached below.

And by the way, I might buy the 1 month Premium-subscription, even though I'm limited to the 3G in QSpot. Nevertheless, I still am ready to test the next -Devel-version, as I mentioned earlier on.

Thanks a lot for the feedback. I have myself often experienced the same disconnect problem, so it is a high priority to get a fix implemented for it. So It is definitely planned for one of the following releases.. I have considered a solution where a disconnect event will be detected, and automatic re-connect to Spotify (i.e., re-login) will be attempted.

The next version is very close now indeed.. Playlist folders are not currently supported in the libopenspotify library, so it will need to be implemented first. I will see what can be done about that (in case we can switch to the official library at some point it will definitely be implemented in QSpot)..

Now an updated QSpot version (0.9.0-1) is available from the extras-devel repository (and from the project garage page). A list of changes:

* Volume can now be adjusted when device is locked.
* Added support for playback control via (Bluetooth) headset (i.e., play / pause, next / previous track).
* Added support for automatically pausing playback when headset is unplugged (disconnected); configurable via Settings dialog (off by default).

I hope you will enjoy the update.. Seek within track was not included in this version as there are some problems in the current libopenspotify implementation.

Thnx for the update. On wifi i get the message: "Error: Cannot connect to the Spotify backend system". On 3G everything works fine.

Volume adjusting from locked screen works great, thanks for that. However, I can't seem to get the music to pause when I remove the headphones. Doesn't seem to matter what order I use to enter them to the jack.

I also got on 3G continuously and on WiFi once "Timeout occurred while loading playlists!" error. Buffering on 3G still works though.

Strange, I just tested with both wifi and 3g and did not notice any problems at all. Is it possible that it could be a temporary problem?
