Issues with the file browser dialog have been reported and is hopefully being worked on (one of the hazards of closed source, bug reports are a bit of a black hole).

bah, just had opera stall while loading m.reddit.com. Could it be that it is not ram but lits of ajax that could be the cause? Stalled as in no ui response, loading spinner frozen and so on.

Hello everyone,

About time for another release, don't you think? Only bug fixes this time, hopefully I've covered at least some of your pet peeves.

Changelog for 11.0beta1-9:
  • Fix crash in the file and directory selector.
  • Don't capitalize first letter when typing passwords.
  • Improve handling of multi-line text fields.
  • Fix another potential black screen on startup bug.
  • Print startup diagnostic messages to console.
  • Prevent urlfilter from blocking everything.
  • Fix FTP download progress indicator.

If you still get a window that quickly disappears with this build, start Opera from a terminal window and it'll hopefully print some diagnostic messages, please report them in a bug.

Unless it complains about the Nokia Sans font missing, someone already posted a bug report on that. No, I'm not going to fix it, put the font back where it belongs!

If you get a black window that doesn't disappear unless you close it manually, then the most common reason is corrupted settings files (yes, the settings code could really use some improvement). Remove all files in the /home/user/.opera/ds directory and hopefully the issue will be resolved.
