Are you pressing the lock&blank button? Bottom is short press, top is long press. If you are using the dpad center to lock you might need to change it from lock(default) to lock&blank in settings:button modes.

Is there a way to select lock and flight mode with one selection in the asui window.

The two buttons aren't close enough together for you? Tap, tap and its in flight mode and locked. You don't have to wait for a button's highlight to go away before tapping another button.

Thanks, just was wondering if there was a one step way that I had over looked, two steps will do.

if your using a N800 then it is one tap and a dpad center press to flight mode and lock

I think we can declare victory on the ICD/battery drain problem

I spoke too soon.
Tonight the battery dropped 24.4% in about 9:15 hours, that's about 2.6%/hour.
It seems there is yet another battery drain cause. I didn't use wifi tonight, so it is probably unrelated to wifi; I'll investigate further. Btw, do you have any idea what can be those DSME unhandled messages about?
ASUI log shows mostly nothing during that period, it only woke up once after locking.

From powerlaunch:

#define DSME_IN_SYSTEM_INACTIVITY 0x0303
#define DSME_IN_SAVE_UNSAVED_DATA 0x0304
#define DSME_IN_SYSTEM_ACTIVITY 0x0311

// I've received the string /usr/sbin/ke-recv and /usr/bin/hildon-input-method with this message on shutdown
// these programs crash on shutdown. I think this is a message about that
// the above strings followed by \0 0x01 \0 and then 0x2c or 0x30
#define DSME_IN_PROCESS_UNKNOWN 0x0406

Looks like one of your services may have crashed while the screen was off. Might be the cause of the battery drain.

noticed a quirk earlier.
went to shut down my N800, and on doing so the device showed the charging screen...yet no charger was attached.

was able to power back up and then the shutdown routine worked correctly.
haven't been able to reproduce it.
will the debug bits see events such as this?

Something made your device switch to runlevel 5, ASUI merely detected the change and switched to its minimal UI. I know that if an alarm is about to go off the device won't shutdown and instead goes to runlevel 5. This made alarm testing difficult because I had to set alarms more than 5 minutes out so I could shutdown the device. There isn't anything ASUI can do to get around this.
