I just got my N800 and love it.
I am having problems setting up my e-mail though.
I was setting up IMAP and SMTP for an RunBox.com account. Receiving works fine (even though its receiving 25 messages every time it checks for email so I get 25, 50, 76, 100 emails after checking 4 times - but thats another story...)

I CANNOT SEND EMAIL !!
I set up the prefrences and it says either
"cannot connect to smtp - check for connection" or "recipient not found on server" depending on the port I was trying (25 or 26).

Is there a fix for that ? I saw in old threads on bugzilla from 2004 that the problem came up then and they said they would fix it but I could find no fix.

My OS is updated to the latest.

PLEASE help me on that !!!
I'd love to keep my N800 !

I don't believe there are any open bugs on this issue. It seems this is more likely a configuration problem.

I would suggest that in order to get more help you may want to provide the exact settings you configured for SMTP. Suggest you be generic though when specifying things such as username and password, obviously. e.g. in the Advanced Settings for Outgoing what did you select for SMTP Authentication? Login? None? CRAM-MD5? Did you select SSL or TLS for security? For your username did you specify with the domain (username@runbox.com) or without the domain (username)? The more details you provide the more likely someone can suggest a possible change to help you.

Hi, I find the included mail application quite bad.

Have you tried Claws Mail?

Thanks. I got:
smtp settings:
smtp type : login
login with : username
port 587 (was recommended by runbox.com)
SSL encryption

I got the errormessage: "error in socket operation. disable ssl and try again"
so I disable ssl & keep the port and get "recipient not found on server"
same with port 26
on port 25 I get "unable to connect. Check network settings"(but I know its there)

ok so I will try using TLS encryption:
port 25 : "error in socket operation. disable ssl and try again"
port 26 : "recipient not found on server"
port 587 : "recipient not found on server"

now I don't know what to do.
I really would like to get it going.
Thanks for any help.

Well, I got ClawsMail to work (no SSL on port 26). Built-in e-mail client won't work with these. Too bad.

Thanks guys.
