Well, then this might not be the only way, but I'd recommend doing everything - uninstall all the kernel power packages and then reinstall them.

Don't trust me too much though - I'm just going with what pali already said - I don't use multiboot so I don't know how that works in detail.

Update @ all: after that first reboot I reported that said my N900 looked like it barely booted after adding "modprobe fbcon" between lines 26 and 27 of the /sbin/preinit file, I've rebooted multiple times and it has worked fine for me. Proper console output and so on.

Still want to know what steps have to be taken to get from here to a an accessible command-line at boot time, and my web searching has turned up naught so far, so perhaps I'm looking in the entirely wrong direction...

Just posting to confirm that last pali's power kernel version works with multiboot just fine. It adds another entry to choose between Normal Kernel / Power Kernel / NITDroid

EDIT: SMS's work fine. I can send normally.-

@pali - Where patches should go, I have updated dspbridge driver to this http://dev.omapzoom.org/?p=integrati...7d1783f6606763 commit, does not make sense do go any further for now as first 720p mpeg4 was played successfully on my N900 . When I have time I will go through newer patches to check for something critical, but for now this is it.

Instead /sbin/preinit edit file /bootmenu.sh
/sbin/preinit run /bootmenu.sh only when keyboard are open. So if your /bootmenu.sh will break booting, you can close keayboard and this file will not be loaded.

Multiboot and Bootmenu are using this file too. (it does not break system with closed keyboard)

I'm prepairing special entry for bootmenu for booting recovery console mode.

First, all patches must be applied on power-kernel 2.6.28.10 tree. And all patches mustn't break some parts of system/kernel.

Put patches in debian/patches, add patch file names to debian/pacthes/series and generate diff agains my power-kernel git repository.

Doesn't editing/making a bootmenu.sh require bootmenu or multiboot installed to actually do anything?

I don't have either as of yet, and if I can figure out how to get the recovery console on my own by learning from the stuff you just posted on that thread, without bootmenu/multiboot, I'd rather do that on my device. IDK - I've got a wierd aesthetic like that. I might still reconsider, but first I at least intend to try.

/sbin/preinit call /bootmenu.sh if exists. bootmenu of multiboot are one of alternative scripts. (you can create your own which only load modules)
