My IS is acting up so it's a bit shaky until I re-convert it, but here is another snippet at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiF60oWAsJI (should be HD, but apparently it will take a couple more minutes before the full res version appears). If Karoliina was recording video and not just stills, her version should be the best (was she shooting as an offical Nokia photo person or just for fun ? ).

Was that video taken on an N900? If so, the quality is pretty impressive!

Sorry, that's a Nikon D90 if you're referring to my link.

Since GlQuake has been available on the older tablets it might be possible to get the Quake I aerial combat mod Airquake running. This stuff was a lot of fun back in the nineties, I even got a theatre group to record some radio communications for it...

In the perfect world this would be available in the tablets with following:
  • GlQuake ported over
  • its own .desktop file so you can go directly to Airquake without having to use command line
  • on-screen buttons for stuff like firing, throttle, radio commands
  • accelometer for flying the plane
  • easy way to get multiplayer (Telepathy Tubes?)

Airquake was made by Iikka Keränen, it might be possible to convince him to open source the mod.

I tested ioquake3 engine with Openarena data files.

Here's a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6vDr47ZuW0

It runs pretty good, but at least the first Openarena level is a bit heavier than quake3 demo level. Best part is that Opearena is completely opensource so we can easily make a complete package with engine and datafiles which can be distributed through Extras repository.

I think that Openarena has slightly patched ioquake3 engine, so what needs to be done is to combine Openarena and ioquake pacthes and make a proper package based on debian/ubuntu packages.

@mikkov,

It looks as though you are clicking off-screen to auto-aim. Is this true?
