v3.6.0 for N9/N950 is available here.

Changes:
- Button to reset map rotation
- Possibility to set coordinate for the landmark to be added
- Possibility to update landmark info
- Landmark categories (very limited functionality)
- SMS GPS source for TK-102 and other devices with same protocol(not sure whether this works)
- Bug fixes

For installation see this post.

Usage instructions:

Adding landmark:
1. Click somewhere on the map area so that box pops up at top of the screen
2. Click house icon on the right side of that box, it'll open menu for adding landmark
3. Tap on the "Coordinate" text to switch between format that coordinates are shown (projected coordinates, lat/lon decimal format, lat/lon degrees/minutes/seconds)
4. Tap on coordinate to set its value
5. Set name and description and click icon at the bottom right corner

Updating landmark:
Otherwise same as adding landmark but in first step select the landmark you want to update

Landmark categories:
Press and hold landmark icon (house icon) on the left menu to open landmark category settings. Selected category is shown below "Category" text (default is "Mapsi Landmarks"). All the landmarks you add are added to this selected category and also only landmarks from this category are shown on the map.

SMS GPS source (TK-102):
1. Press and hold GPS icon on the left menu.
2. Select "GPS sources" -> "Add GPS source"
3. Select "SMS" type and set name and phone number (of your TK-102 device)
4. Click "Add source"
5. Select that added GPS source from the list and set its "State" to "Enabled"
6. Now when you receive SMS from TK-102 it should be shown on the map
If someone tries this let me know whether it works.

Just tried the version v3.6.0 on N9.

Here's some initial comments:
1) Map loading seems to be laggy and zooming still seems jumpy.
2) GPS location seems to wonder around in quite a wide range (jumped a few kilometers from time to time).
3) Please add support also for the widely used GPS format DD MM.MMM (e.g. used in geocaching.com). Here's an example: "N 61° 30.462 E 023° 49.362".

I will try it after I will get map loading working again. I upgraded Mapsi without removing the older version. Now I see only blue background without maps. And yes, I have copied the new wms_settings.ini to the Mapsi directory. I see only rotating arrows when I zoom the map.

It seems that Paikkatietoikkuna's WMS servers URLs were changed. I updated new settings file that should work to this post.

I also noticed that it wasn't TK-102 GPS receivers protocol that I added support for but Globalsat TR-151's. So TK-102 won't work. I'll add support for TK-102 protocol to the next version.

3.6.2 for N9/N950 is available here.

Changes from 3.6.0:
- Zooming bugs fixed
- Added support for DD MM.MMM coordinate format
- Fixed/added TK-102 GPS receiver support (don't know whether it works)

For installation see this post and for some usage instructions this post. Also, if you have earlier Mapsi version installed, remove "settings.ini" from "/home/user/MyDocs/.mapsi/" directory.

Great work, but sorry to say ...

Mapsi is working against the Terms of use for Paikkatietoikkuna.
It is not allowed that an application copies and stores map data out of the Paikkatietoikkuna.

Orava or who ever delivers the Mapsi application shall make an official agreement with National Land Survey in Finland (Maanmittauslaitos) about the usage of map API.

Terms of use for Paikkatietoikkuna says:
"Proprietary rights
All rights concerning spatial datasets and Products, including copyrights and other proprietary rights belong to the NLS and other Data providers. More information about the rights is available in the metadata of the spatial datasets that the Products are based on.

Copying and detaching products, in whole or in part, from the Map service and making the contents available to the public by distributing, publicly presenting or displaying them and storing or reproducing the contents, in whole or in part, is prohibited. To use the Map service for educational purposes funded by public means is allowed. The User may for his/her private use in accordance with the Finnish Copyright Act and for use in thesis print out single maps from the service. All other copying of maps is prohibited. "

National Land Survey of Finland (NLS) is very willing to support the development of new navigation and other applications. NLS was a sponsor in Apps4Finland competition 2011.
NLS has proposed that map data should be available free of charge by the 1.5.2012 - and hopefully Ministry of Finance in Finland will allow this happen.

Please, be innovative but follow the rules. Together we have to encourage our politician to create us better rules!

Well, I'm using that data for educational purposes, in private. Not that it should matter, but I thought that it needed to be mentioned.

I hope that NLS can make an offer Orava cannot refuse.

And that MoF will understand that the material is already paid for by the public.

Mapsi is a WMS client application that doesn't use any particular WMS servers but user must define servers he wants to use in WMS settings file. I removed Paikkatietoikkuna's WMS servers from my example WMS settings files but I can not control if people want to share their own setting files (for example by posting those to this thread (and if someone does that please first remove all lines starting with "wmsCookieValue_")) that contains Paikkatietoikkuna's servers.
