My current desktops. Nothing special, I'm afraid. I did install Theme Customizer but for some reason my screen started flickering wildly immediately after I got an incoming call.

I suppose you could draw them on the wallpaper and run them off transparent QB widgets underneath each one?

where can I download icons for my N900? like the envelope for the emal messaes, telephone for phone etc etc..

The normal and easy way would be to use D-livils marvellous program Theme Customizer and then install some Icon themes from App manager. If you just want one icon then you will need to edit your current themes icon folder located in /usr/share/icons/.
