O.K. The flasher-3.0 is meant to be run on a linux PC, not on the device itself. Ignore all previous instructions. Follow the below steps instead.

If you are running Windows, you need to-
1. Get root access to the device. There are several ways to do this. The easiest is probably to go to nitapps.com and install easyroot

2. Get fanoush's kernel-flasher from his site To do this, download the 'kernel-flasher' link above from the browser on your tablet. Save it to the root of the device. (i.e.- when it asks you where you wish to save it, choose 'change folder' You'll see the device name, the internal mmc and the external mmc, each with subdirectories. Click on the device name and save it there. Don't put it in any of the subdirs. (Audio Clips, Documents...)
3. Download the kernel into the same location, in the same way. The link is here. Again, download it onto the device not onto the MMC's, nor into any of the subirectories. The Instructions I'm posting below are location dependent and won't work if the files are downloaded into the wrong location.

Once you have installed easyroot and downloaded the two packages above you are ready to go! Open osso-xterm and follow the instructions below EXACTLY.

First, Become root. In xterm do-
Code:
root
Second, change to the directory where the files are. In xterm do-
Code:
cd /home/user/MyDocs
Third, verify you downloaded the flasher and zImage into the right directory. In xterm do-
Code:
ls
You should see zImage listed as well as kernel_flasher.tgz. If not you downloaded the files to the wrong location.

Next, untar the flasher. In xterm do-
Code:
tar xvzf kernel_flasher.tgz
You should see a list of the extracted files.

Finally, flash the kernel! In xterm type the following (exactly)-
Code:
./kernel_flasher/kernel_flash ./zImage
The instructions above are exact and step by step. If you have followed them you should now have a succesfully flashed kernel! Now reboot your tablet and try host mode.

If you run into any snags or have questions, post back

good luck,
kernelpanic

You're quite welcome. Please visit https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3026 and vote for this bug. I'd really like to see Nokia upstream this patch...

Cheers,
kernelpanic
