Thanks guys

The Ctrl I doesn't work in any of the programs that I am after.

The Chr key does work but you have to hit the tab button on screen.

What I'm after is the ability to jump between boxes on a web page when I am entering text. Maybe remapping is the only way to achieve this.

Just as q335r49 suggested, edit /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/nokia_vndr/rx-44

scroll down to find this line

Code:
key <SPCE>   (   [   space,   space,   space,   space   ]   );
and change it to this:

Code:
key <SPCE>   (   [   space,   space,   Tab,   Tab   ]   );
now when you hit Fn + space you'll get a tab. Very handy.

This is a pretty common hack, you can find out more by googling that file.

In many instances the the navigation pad on the N810 keyboard will jump between input fields. There are a number of subtle differences in operation between the stylus keyboard, finger keyboard, slide out keyboard and the SU-8W Nokia bluetooth keyboard. There are some special characters like "|" which are different on all these keyboards. "-" for example requires a shift on the stylus keyboard and a "Fn" shift on the bluetooth keyboard. The slide out keyboard provides "-" un-shifted as with a standard Qwerty keyboard.

The easiest way to edit it is directly on the tablet, using VI. You'll need to be root.

VI is a hard editor to use if you're new to it. I used "apt-get install nano" to get, IMHO, a more basic but approachable editor.

I tried this but now I am not able to autocomplete a specofic file in a directory. Are you able to do so? I changed it back but I can still only autocomplete a directory using tab.

Does anybody want to upload there rx-44 file? Thanks guys.

In the Terminal you can Menu-> View-> Show toolbar. The toolbar has a Tab.
