oh yeah, i saw that originally but like everything, until hardware is announced nothing exists.

besides, doesn't help me with my predicament.

someone must have usable tech lying around doing nothing

I have been watching this site for a while now....just need the extra cash to pull the trigger on the following:...

refurb hp tc1100 -$100 (second listing)

If this is what you're looking for...check out this thread on putting Ubuntu onto the tc1100.

probably offtopic, but lately when i follow in-forum links, i get the default theme, and im not logged in. how come?

Because the link doesn't have www. in the http:// address, so the forum software does not know you are logged in.

No problem!

I'm hoping to buy 2...keep one, sell one on eBay ~300...buy 3... rinse & repeat.

Of course I need the cash first

On a side note: One of the vendor's I work with had a tc1100 issued to him. When I asked how he liked it the biggest detraction he mentioned was that it is top heavy when open to access the keyboard. ( I guess he dropped his a couple of times holding on his lap)
