Just install the .377 version of the map software and use macchanger to get unlimited 7 day trials, to hell with them and their shitty support!!!!

Where is this announced? Jenni is not a spokesperson of Nokia. She is a Wayfinder helpdesk employee. The quotes are by her and cannot be seen as more. They might not even represent Wayfinder AB (or Vodafone if the deal is final). If you read her quotes earlier in this thread she gave contradicting information.

What exactly ARE the feature differences between the paid and free Wayfinder for NIT? Wayfinder is not very good with telling you what the differences are, is turn-by-turn navigation the only thing you actually get?

CyberCat,

Without a paid subscription, you can look at the preloaded maps and if your device is connected to a GPS satellite, it will tell you where you are located on the map, assuming you've got the right country on the screen. The paid subscription basically unlocks the route guidance feature (which I believe they specifically call "navigation") which tells you where to go, turn by turn. The latter is of course more convenient and safer while driving. The paid license also unlocks a feature whereby you can pre-program an itinerary with multiple waypoints, however those entries mysteriously vanish the moment you change maps. It's prudent to build you list of waypoints in advance by defining them and saving them as favorites; these will stay in memory with their respective maps, even when you switch maps. Then when you are traveling in a specific map region, just build your itinerary quickly from the favorites category. Hope that helps some.

Okay thanks internaut. That's kind of what I was figuring but I wasn't sure. I was just playing around with it and I noticed that it can show you the closest POIs based on your current location (i.e. where is the closest gas station). But it simply shows where it is, not how to get there. So I could see having the turn-by-turn directions as a very useful feature, although I would have a hard time justifying the exuberant price premium Wayfinger charges for the privilege. =/

Have you looked into Maemo Mapper at all? Maybe it is something you'd find useful as well.

Also I was wondering, does the full Wayfinder allow you to track a path of where you've BEEN? Kind of like reverse waypoints?

Nokia made their announcement a long time ago...

I wasn't talking about anything miss Jenni said.

Ahhh! OK, so then they are discontinued, but that does not mean software for the platform by ISVs is also discontinued.

A) is it possible to reset the 7 day trail on a NIT?
B) My E90 fits in the NIT car holder like it was made for it (when unfolded) and has GarminXT installed. Does Wayfinder have ANY advantages for me to buy it and use it instead of GarminXT?

No, if you use Garmin you will be greatly disappointed with Wayfinder IMHO
