Yeah, that sounds good Capt'n

I'm not too crazy about 3D implementation on a fixed screen, unless it's as wide as the peripheral vision. I mean, it's been around since the days before 3DFX jump started the pc 3d scene (anyone remember Rendition Verite?).

Maybe if it's setup on 3-4 screens to cover your field of view That'd be awesome.

I've had the PS3 for about a year now and its a great console. I tend to play the wii a little more because the wife plays that with me. The PS3 apart from being a blu-ray player is also DLNA compliant so you can use it with your tablet quite well and paired with something like PS3mediaserver becomes quite the media playing device. I use it more for media consumption than gaming in all honesty.

I love my PS3. Uncharted 2 has my attention. So does Super Street Fighter IV that's coming out in February which will not carry a full price - I already own SFIV, love it.

But... my son and I play the Wii more. I just got Muramasa Demon Blade for the Wii... fun times.

This is why Linux on PS3, even if it's limited, is a good thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Y8WrkDRMuI

Yeah, a larger screen *does* make a difference with 3D, and so does resolution. 3-4 screens would be amazing! I recall hearing about a curved back-projection screen, at one years e3/ces, but it didn't seem to pan out, as I haven't heard of it since.

Playing shadow of the colossus (or something similar) in 3D would be heavenly.

@f(x)
That is COOL! Wow, what a neat hack. I don't know why I hadn't even considered that something like this would be possible! Unfortunately, the lappy I want doesn't have a express-card slot, and it's so thin that I doubt it'll fit a mini PCI-E. However, this is just too cool! If I end up getting a laptop that has the necessary slots/space, I'll definitely look into this!

@zerojay,
Nice work man! I love emulation, and love that interface. Not needing to jump between programs to have access to a library is pretty nifty. Hey, we still get to use our N900s for all of the mentioned content, plus have the benefit of outputting directly to the big-screen. Hell, I could even control using a PS3 gamepad.

}:^)~

Consoles r cool, but pc is better. PC-is-expensive debate is overrated imo. I'm a PC guy, u have to realise that while u give extra money for pc, its not just a console, its much more and everyone knows it.

@capt'n:
omg, if only they re-release Shadows of the Collossus on the PS3. No need to change anything or add anything new... I'd buy it again in a heartbeat just to get te updated visuals. It's already a p-e-r-f-e-c-t game as is

@abubakar:
well, at the time when I bought my xb360 and ps3 ($400 each was it?) I had to spend about $1.5k to get equivalent performance (@1080p). I'm sure you can get a pc to do that for much less nowadays, then again the ps3 and xb360 has been around for quite a FEW years already.

Yeah, nice and all... but Sony locked out folks on the new PS3 Slims.

If emulation is that important, then why the negative remarks around the Pandora around here then? Just curious.
