I have some issues with mpeg2 streams
* With N900 mediaplayer first frame of video is shown and "freezed" to screen while audio plays nicely.
* With mplayer video works for a while and then it just quits.

Stream is from VDR with streamdev-server (if that has any influence)

If you don't like VLC to copy-paste every time script...the solution is Dreambox VLC Streamer. This program take yours favorite TV channel in nice GUI and you can switch program and watch or stream. I made some test. For me the best result is when i use H-264(500kb/s)video codec and AAC(64kb/s) audio codec in ASF/WMV container.Test with Mpeg-TS-25 fps, but video is slugging. in 15 fps everything is alright. I use 0.5 video scale, so in PAL region this is 384 x 288 pixel and the quality is good.

I made some additional test and the best result is to use:
Theora Video codec! Main reason-Built Media player is playing this format, that means Low processor usage and..if you connect yours TV-out cable you can watch on TV and display of N900 is turning off. I love my N900
