USB host including USB audio, number row on the keyboard, thinner, and an OLED screen.

When was this announced? At the Summit, Nokia said the lead Harmattan device would have a capacitive multitouch display.

Yeah, not unless you want an e-ink display on your phone. The problem is people are demanding faster processors and bigger displays, and battery tech isn't improving as fast. You can't have your cake and eat it, too.

Classic example of arbitrary Nokia decision making. Couldn't just fallback to the no brainer of tagging with lat/lon if network isn't accessible, could you Nokia?
MAME: an arcade in your pocket
Accelemymote: make your accelerometer more joy-ful

Snapdragon, Xenon, slimmer, less bugs at launch, Compass, Trackball, better email client. Not sure whether I prefer Cap or Res screen, but I wouldn't change the resolution or colour depth.
Until then, I think I'll hold off on the N900 - the device doesn't seem to know which market it's aiming for, and also Nokia's silly insistence that the N900 is the 4th step of 5, and that it's a web device not a smartphone, is making people think that Maemo 5 is just a temporary stepping stone.

If next device got harmattan i'm 99% sure we see capacitive with it. I wouldn't really mind at all, but that is as long as it's as easy to use example small youtube icons using fingers as it's now with N900(remember to calibrate the screen using fingers).
I think the device will be qwertyless, but i would still like too see qwerty. 3.7inch screen(wouldnt surprise to see oled here) and sure it will be thinner qwerty or not. Same hw + 8mp camera.

All that with the qwerty and i'm more than happy.

i would like to see the keyboard remain and quad band WCDMA added. A faster processor and more RAM would be great. Four rows on the keyboard would be nice but not necessary.

Or did they say that Harmattan software supports multitouch? I don't remember anymore, but generally hw wasn't a topic there.

We're talking a year out for the next version as an estimate? Just wondering what sort of HW advances may be a possible offering (battery, LED, USB 3.0) and if Nokia would/could include them.

...and if more prospective n900 buyers may just wait knowing another new model with maemo 6 is coming out. (myself included).

I would like something more like the N810 with the performance of the 900, i.e. a large screen version of the 900 with larger/better keyboard. Switch out the analogue video for mini HDMI too.

I'd also like proper USB OTG host mode, and nifty stuff like the compass and six-axis accelerometers, then I'll be happy.

Ok, add dual-band wifi, then I'd be happier. Perhaps a second microSDHC slot, is that too much to ask? How about a micro trackball, they're pretty cool!

And maybe inductive charging option. Am I asking too much yet?

Perhaps the ability to slide back the IR filter on the camera for night-vision shots and some IR LEDs for night-vision illumination.

Backlit keyboard too. And waterproof down to 50m so you could use it when scuba diving. And put in some swiss-army-knife attachments to make it a general purpose toolkit
