It seems so close, only the desktop needs more tinkering with.
Yeah, I was pretty disappointed when I saw "Milestone: Harmattan" on portrait input in brainstorm...

my device got into this state once also. I was in "phone" applet (portrait mode) and portrait mode got stuck after that. The only way to go back was to reboot the device...

i was able to reprodue the protrait mode several time. after the latest upgrade i held the phone in protrait mode position and clicked on the phone. it opened up in protrait mode and then i clicked on the more app and i got the phone to be in protrait mode. close the app screen and your desktop should be in protrait more.

i just made the glitch for Portrait Mode and found the easiest way to do it

(u'll need to have the USSD pad app installed first)

update: the video will take about an hour or more to upload

Hey guys i got some Screen shots of my phone in portrait mode.
One day after a phone call it would not leave this mode until I restarted the phone. It was cool at the time. Everything worked but i was not able to leave this mode on the desktop but i could use landscape in the browser.

One question though is how are the backgrounds going to work when they do enable portrait mode?????? Know what I mean???. You will need two lots of backgrounds. One for landscape and one for portrait. look Bellow.

Just to let you guys know I was able to move icons on the desktop to the bottom of the screen in portrait mode. I pretty much had full Control.

Found on of the post here is also two swipe backgrounds in the n900. LockSliderThumb.png", and the second one is "LockSliderThumbPortrait.png

Happened to me also this week. a couple of times.

I think it has to do with some applications I installed, but not sure which.

It starts with the phone getting stuck in portrait and then all the other applications stay in portrait as well.

It's cute but it is a bug and not supposed to happen. You can't really use it because the rendering is still in landscape, so half the items are missing. Hope it works it self out.
