A lot of websites look for the browser's user agent and redirect you to a mobile optimized site. I noticed this a lot on the iPhone and it was nice to use those optimized sites

Personally I think MicroB is great.
I tried mobile Safari yet again last night to test a page which works perfectly on my N900. Try this one and see if the comments come up... on the iPhone they don't:

While comments on these articles can sometimes be irritating, on an article such as this, people tend to link lots of YouTube clips which can be worth seeing. On the iPhone, you don't even know that there were comments! It shows them on Opera Mobile on my N82 and Blackberry Bold, so there's no way I could live without that feature.
