wow... the Veer is really amazing. This is the phone I could easily recommend to my girlfriend instead of buying an iphone. In fact I'd buy one myself, but I just need something with a bigger screen with higher resolution. But this thing is really amazing anyway.

webOS would be the only OS I'd like to have on my phone besides of Maemo or Meego at the moment. HP just has to release the proper hardware: landscape device with QWERTY, high resolution screen and high-end Chipset and nothing can hold me at Nokia.

I'm surprised no one has noticed what the second image means:

Is this really true? have my dreams come true for once?

Not sure what you meant by 'in hot', but they showed 'url passing by tapping' in yesterday's event. Nothing about moving/copying apps.

Well, I meant moving an app in real time to another machine.

Anyway, it seems it's only sharing information rather than moving the app :S

IF Elop & Co. kills MeeGo (as far as Nokia is concerned at least) I may give WebOS another serious look. Seems I'll be left with 3 possible choices once I have to retire my N900:

1. WebOS.
The Good: Will be the closest thing to Maemo/MeeGo/real Linux actually available on a phone. Good OS with a supportive community. Nice UI I can't help but like. Hackable.
The Bad: Not open. Only offered on one company's hardware, which was one of the original reservations I had when switching to Maemo.

2. Android.
The Good: Lotsa apps and hardware to choose from. UI still kinda sucks, but better than by far now than it was on my G1. Hackable.
The Bad: UI still kinda sucks. Not truly open. Not really Linux. Been there, done that, don't miss it a bit. But probably worst of all is the Big Brother aka Google factor.

3. MeeGo.
The Good: Real, open Linux distro. Most capable and adaptable of any mobile OS. Base UI looks ok and a Maemo-style UI would rock. Possibility of availability on a variety of hardware.
The Bad: Nothing actually on the market, iffy future. Gotta wait and see and hope my N900 doesn't break before a suitable MeeGo device is available.

Tough situation...

Remember this:

Maemo chief Ari Jaaksi leaved Nokia last year going to WebOS...
A webOS chief (dont remember name) did enter Nokia.

Now many thinks nokia goes WP7.

To mee more logical step for Nokia is this two decisions:

One dish Meego and use WebOS

or

Officially port Qt to WebOS and make HP abandon theyr development framework and go Meego :-D (more open platform)

Both cases looks intresting...

I for one am excited about the tablet. I've played around with a friend's Pre2 and I really like the interface. Both webOS and Maemo are fantastic at multitasking, but I must say I like it a tab more in webOS than Maemo. Sliding programs up and away is much more fluid than having to click on tiny corner X's.

Hopefully Nokia will have something interesting to show us tomorrow at their event thingy..

I don't like the device design. If they come with a sexy slim 3.7" to 4" with keyboard then I'll take it.
