Even aside from business use, word processing is the most universal thing people use
computers for at all. This program is vital for the N800 platform. Keep up the good
development work and know that all of our hopes and dreams are riding on you.

I read that some users had had no problem with Abiword, so I downloaded it and installed it.

It crashes very easily. If I mark text to delete it crashes. Making a strike on the display may crash it and I have yet to type more than a few lines in before it crashes because of some action or the other that I have made.

Perhaps I have failed to install something that it needs. I am not used to Linex and the method of distribution used although I have run, installed and maintained Unix, SCO Unix and NeXTStep systems.

I got the N800 as a birthday present for my daughter and so tried to get as many useful apps up and running as quickly as I could.

Gerald: Read my post earlier in the thread. Though the AbiWord 2.4.6 is compiled for the 770, as long as you are relatively careful it works so-so on the N800, there are certain things to avoid to make it more stable. I'll work on a new version soon.
