but i would suggest you to install qcpufreq instead of maxcpu as i have intalled qcpu and i can only help with qcpu .
plus qcpu is simple and easy too.

ok i can set the frequency in qcpu? and it is on 125 frequency when phone is idle right? it doesnt mess up or anything? and can we see temperature of phone?

yes you can set the maximum frequency in qcpu as the minimum can only be set through presets in the drop down menu.
and if you wanted to see the frequency on the desktop you have to use queen beecon widget or desktop command execution widget.

i hope you do know how to use these widgets.

p.s to overclock your phone through qcpu first enable overclocking from the settings of the qcpu .

hey i cant select the enable overclocking option in qcpu. why?

hey i rebooted. overclocked it. the last option im getting in the window u showed above isloadbq27x00_battery module. should i enable it? what is it about? and what is about smartreflex? canu please tell? and my temperature is hwoing 400 degree c is it normal?

means you have checked all the other three options ?
yup check the last option too .
it will give you more accurate temperature as we cannot have perfectly accurate but it will give you close to accurate.
and yeah dont check the smartreflex as i have read posts by others that it will give reboot your device very often , smartreflex gives you a longer battery timing .
and yeah chech the last option in the settings and check if the temperature is under 40's or not ?
kernel v47 is the reason why temperature is in 400 and it is ok .

open this link and the 5th post by direx .
download the .deb file and install it on your n900 . this version of qcpu will give you temperature under 40's and 30's .
