Hi ajack

The application refers to itself as PocketFTP
It's impressive what you don't see if you look at it long enough

PocketFTP was the working title of the project when I started upon the development, but after having had a search on the 'net, I found that this name had been used quite a lot, so I decided on SimplyFTP .... and forgot to change the program title.

I'm not familiar with download managers, can you explain what you propose ?

Would a resume function be a usable compromize ?

Hi

SimplyFTP has been updated to version 0.4.

The following changes has been made :

Program title changed from PocketFTP (the original project name) to SimplyFTP

In the 'Edit connection' dialog the password entry has been changed to only show passwords while thay are entered

In the 'Edit connection' dialog a "Start dir" has been added, after a connection has been established, the program will try to change to this directory

You can find an installation packet on the project garage page
https://garage.maemo.org/projects/simplyftp/.

A resume would be better than nothing I guess... but what download managers do is simple... some ftp sites trottle an ftp session to X kb/s, a way around it is to start Y sessions to the same file so you get X * Y kb/s instead. For example, a 1MB file with 4 sessions will start the download with 4 different session starting at offset 0, 256000, 512000 and 768000 bytes. If you get what I mean and write them all into the same file.

Will try the newer 0.4 in a few minutes.

@kif:

The password input was not as expected but is usable. I can live with this version. It'll also be good if I could delete files/directories as well. Some simple file management functions would be great as well...

No, I agree, but it's either that or always *, it may be up to revision when I get more trained in OT but until now it's the best I can do.

but what download managers do is simple
I understand, I'm not quite sure how to implement this in the current program, but I'll give it a try.

Well, this program was meant as a simple FTP client, and file management is somewhat outside the original idea, .... but I'll add it to the "maybe" list
