Thanks.

I am curious. Why is it bad to manually edit the xml files? Isn't it just a simple text file?

Not arguing, just curious is all.

auto-connect value should be set in different way:

gconftool -s --list-type=string -t str system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect[*]

Hello,

I'm facing same problem as mentioned by breakd0wn -- phone won't auto connect to any wireless network.

I read whole theread and did almost everything suggested, but still no luck. Is there a way to figure what should be default setting or wifi? Is there a way to reset only this?

Thanks,
b.

My
/etc/osso-af-init/gconf-dir/
is empty ?!?

On the other hand:
gconf is:

/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/change_while_connected true
/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_interval 300
/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/auto_connect "[*]"

And power saver mode is OFF... But N9 still don't change mobile network connection to known WiFi connection... ? Any idea?

EDIT: I've found the answer ... The connection is changed only if "Allow background connections" is turn ON

Well, I'm wondering.. I have background connections to off, will it still search for the networks withing the search_interval? Or will disabling bg connections disable automatic scan for networks? (On Fremantle it was much easier )
