how ironic...
wish I could actually watch the video but it seems like with most things from nokia it runs on anything other than a nokia.

I wouldn't get too excited about this... if you go one level up in the link (http://swipe.nokia.com/flash/assets/videos/) you'll see that there a whole bunch of different versions of the same video optimized for different platforms, one of them incidentally being for the "iPhone4"...

Well I will, because there's no reason to say it's def. not happening yet.

UX-centric? <SNIP>
I'm at a loss to see how "UX centric" can even be argued as a terrible aspect of the device.
Compared to say the N900, and given the device's core functions....
But we've seen that happen countless times, so I CBF'd opening that old chestnut.

As for the non-replacable battery, I do find that to be a negative (even though it makes the device smaller and more beautiful), since sometimes it's nice to be able to take two batteries on a long trip away from wall power, and sometimes my N900 has needed a 'battery out' reset before it'll switch on (I've just been too lazy to research why this is - it was originally fixed in PR1.2 (I think 1.2?) but has come back to haunt me.
Sure, you can change the battery, but it's not a 30-second job, needs special tools, may void your warranty (if you screw it up) and you run the risk of breaking bits of the surround (read the service manual to see what I mean).
I agree it is a valid point to raise....
But it's not fair to characterise it entirely as "not replaceable".
It is replaceable, just not as easily as the N900.
I suspect as we get much more familiar with the N9.
Users will work-out methods for how best to rapidly replace the battery with little risk.
It will never be as simple as the N900...
And if one's not too bright & can't follow detailed instructions.
Then there's always the risk of damage or voiding one's warranty.
I wonder how easy/difficult it is compared to iP4, the comparisons will be interesting

Well of course it's failing on the "commercial apps/ecosystem" front...
Nokia's never seriously attempted to open one up for Maemo/MeeGo.
Party because it just hasn't had a final consumer solution till recently, & partly due to various other incompetent reasons.
The only chance of there being some semblance of one, that has any kind of self-sustaining momentum, FINALLY.
Is for folks to embrace the N9 at half-decent no's compared to the N900, & for a fairly sustained period.
6mth is a long time in this sector & well past a "sustained period", if the adoption rate is much better than the N900.

While technically trying to catch-up? It seems that...
You've completely forgotten other things folks have highlighted, or refuse to acknowledge them as correct, even if true.
Countless times it's been demonstrated why it's better in many, if not most (not every), hardware/software aspects.

iP5 is potentially another ball game...
But technically it's still vaporware until official specs & instantaneous availability is announced.
And according to all acct's I've read so far, this yr's iP5 will be one of the most minor releases yet.
There's a "big one" planned for the iP6 in approx. Q2 (possibly May) next year.
And you can "bet your bottom dollar" that Apple (unlike Nokia) will deliver in that quarter.

So, I agree! Now let's hear from the folks that INSIST it's not an iPhone wannabe! THOSE are the people I like to hear from
No, we've tried, but you've already made-up your mind.
You aint gunna change it for anyone, or anything.
And neither are we: "Nahnahnahnahnahnahnah, I can't hear you!"

That video makes the N900 look awfully boring and OLD and my thoughts are when this N9 does finally hit the shelves it is going to spell the end of the N900 for sure.

@jalyst, shallimus: well then, copying Apple is not ALL bad is it?

Seriously though, the effort to replace N9's battery is similar to what you need to do to replace an iPhone's battery. And I should've worded it non user replaceable battery.

happy nao?
