Edit: I wanna add, Gimp and Photoshop are great for making things like the wallpapers themselves, while Inkscape and Illustrator are great for adding shadows, dock bars, etc etc. Inkscape and Illustrator are also good at vector artwork for wallpapers, google "vector wallpaper" if you don't know what I mean. Gimp and Inkscape are free, while Photoshop and Illustrator are hundreds of dollars, legally anyway.
Nice, i would create some myself but am no good at photoshop and stuff. Not sure what i want but something like this and maybe some boxes or something elegent that i can fit icons in and make it look stylish and natural if you get what i mean, im trying to find an example.

Or like some kinda wallpaper that looks good but you dont notice the icons but you know they are there in the picture, arggg hard to explain sorry lol.

I have no idea why you guys are insisting on hiding the status area and icon backgrounds? It makes the desktop look really cluttered and messy to me.

Well, if they like it, they like it.

@ Vir3us
Not quite sure what you mean there. I do wanna mention though, the stuff I did to that wallpaper, the status bar and dockbar, are really basic stuff. Two rectangles with 1 pixel white outlines and a black to alpha gradient fill for each. Took about 4 minutes.

Edit:

I changed it up again, same general principle, if anyone wants the wallpapers, holla. Basic setup is my main page, like a Desktop on Gnome, KDE, Windows, etc etc. Second page is like a set of utilities, so I darken the wallpaper to show it's more of a tool area instead of a normal use area.

@ DarkGUNMAN ..thank you for your nice work.. I have a question though, as you can see my temp is alittle off but would it be possible to change the temp to Fahrenheit.

By Jove, I think you're on to something here! Those are some well though out screens you have! Mine are too cluttered - I need to take the time to reconfigure and spread out my setup better over more screens.

Had a quick look at the yahoo site.. seems you should add
/?unit=f
to the end of the url - there is a button on the site to change to farehheit.. obviously edit the regex to °F

Another little change to the regex for Low and High to account for more characters as well as minus figures.. eg

grep -o Low[:].[-0-9]*`°C

Just thought I'd add mine in here too.
Nothing really special, not too keen on very cluttered stuff.
