sealed battery = fail, lazy fail, lazy iphone copy fail

I have a question Nokia, can I make as much money as your fail/lazy engineers as a factory worker (I'm a solar factory worker actually helping the world)? I'm just asking.

Because I can pull the back off of my dual core LG G2x right now and replace the battery.
Furthermore I've got 3+ choices of roms in only 1.2 months time since the phone has been released.

Hey Elop, you piece of crap, you should be on a geico commercial showing you are a trojan for your obvious destructive behavior towards meego and symbian. If symbian is so ui lame then just improve ui what's your problem?

don't be so hard on yourself.
in fact, NOKIA messed it up because apparently they completely underestimated the nbr. of participants.
of course, for them it is easier 'cuz they never said anything (publicly) about giving away devices, thus no big deal for them, but that's not a reason to blame yourself for that.
i think whether the devices are distributed or not @ MeeGo 2011 doesn't change the fact that the RM-680 is a developer device or is the one and only MeeGo device that will be available from NOKIA this year.
of course, having them distributed and an official announcement of a device w/out keyboard would have settled the matter.

thus, we are back to speculation, rumours ¦-)

and in case you haven't noticed yet, i'm not making this a personal vendetta or anything; it is a general rule which i think may apply to a couple of posters on this thread, indeed.
this being said good communication is not based on (entertaining) rumours, no matter how closely one is related to them.
maybe a lesson?

check my last post...
i'm not here for a vendetta, i'm here because i sincerely believe that the successor of the N900 should have a keyboard and i can't help thinking NOKIA thinks so too.
in the line of 770 to N900, how many had a keyboard?
all, except one, not the last one.
they bring out as many (if not more?) kbd devices as touch screen only devices.
would it make sense to make a t.s. dev, just like a lottery?
thus, i'm ready to accept the unpleasant idea that you are right, unpleasant not because you would be right, but because
- i don't like the prospect
- i have a hard time believing NOKIA would make such a crappy choice, thus until i see proof (~= official announcment i guess), i'll fight it.

if you are wrong, you are welcome to stay.
maybe, take a moment to read my previous post ?

while it can play 1080p with easy.
You shouldnt care about the CPU - its the support/ecosystem that matters....

... case in point - you had to rip files from WebOS in the first place cause no devs wanted to support the N900 (and how many N900 users actually BOUGHT the game on palm before putting it on the N900 ? Lolers)

I would wait and see if there is even an ecosystem around this thing (this includes informal ones like TMO), or what is released is what you get for the lifecycle of this phone.

I thought according to eldar there were 92,000 of the N9's produced?

I wonder if we will ever find out all the details here...

If I'm reading this right - feel free to correct me - are you saying that the 770 (no kb), N800 (no kb), N810/N810 WiMAX (with kb), N900 (with kb) is the progression you saw as all but one?

That's a bit wrong. Perhaps it's the wording I'm tripping on.

I thought we've been through this already with the N900?
So really, it's nothing new. It's what we make out of it.
I'm just glad they are still going to release it and not kill it off.

I hope Nokia would use a more targeted approach to handing out development machines than the "one for everyone in the audience" approach. Im not sure how well the return has worked out for Intel with the thousands of machines it has handed out over the past year. If it's the lack of devices that is stopping them from handing them out, i'm glad it made them rethink their strategy. IMO a development device shouldn't be going to bloggers, journalists, hangers on, or admin support, atleast not at the expense of getting it into the hands of a developer. Someone who can write applications, hopefully the killer app, that will make your commercial device more desirable.

I wasn't a member here at the time, but from what I understand the N900 was given out to valued Maemo application developers ('fremantle stars') plus offered at a discount to members with over a certain amount of karma. Seems a much fairer way than handing them out indiscriminately amongst conference attendees, I hope something similar will happen again.

if it is binary compatible w/ MeeGo, the ecosystem will be MeeGo, just like Maemo.org was the ecosystem for 770 / N8x0 / N900.
at worst (if the CPU isn't a Moorestown) it'll be the same old game of having to select between different architectures when downloading stuff
possibly having to compile it if Intel decides that they won't support ARM any more.
then again, MeeGo is open source, so if the kernel and compiler and libraries are available, that could be managed.

my mistake:
rephrase:
in the line of 770 to N900 the last two have a keyboard.

thanks for the correction
