I don't know about an accident, I believe there are people working at Nokia who support MeeGo, and Eflop might be the CEO but he doesn't have absolute power.

strikes me as the same kind of mechanism used in the E7, no?
carries accepted the E7 no questions asked, mostly thanks to the N8's success and the fact it is running Symbian, a known config.
if it was rejected it was more likely because the carriers had the same limited vision as most ppl on the Internet; NOKIA has deserted MeeGo and they would be left w/ an unsupported device as soon as W devices come out.

With regards the devel-only device not being distributed at the conference due to inadequate supply of said device, I think the PR reps at Nokia realized that having withdrawn from a partnership with Intel (in a not so professional manner I might add), any time Intel is around, Nokia better not create any more waves.

i also notice that theres not enough devices for the ppl at the conf??? wtf is that ... at google.io they shared some HW that wasnt distributed at the conference but will ship later ... so not having enough to give out is a meme, only having 92,000 is a meme, handing them out in the first place is a meme ... NONE of this is credible info and its being bandied about as if its real, seriously wait, all this misinformation DOES NOT HELP.
i cannot get the keynote to load, i continue to hope for more solid information though, as today more than one person has played with a device from nokia @ the meego.con so lets see if we can get our hands on some IRL photos!!
