I am aware but it only happens during sync for me. I tried to solve it but looks like the only way to fix it is to implement a whole HTTPS stack myself, and I won't do that (I'll leave that to the future developers).

Also that's the reason Yappari doesn't support video or audio. The phone becomes unresponsive when a video is being downloaded...

EDIT: Well.. not really, but it becomes as slow as when you're uploading a picture.

It'll be nice if I could Yappari not to sync, and occasionally sync manually from the menus. If I do that now, Yappari doesn't seem to remember the current contacts.

Would doing a sync on a separate thread (is that even possible) allow Yappari to have smoother responses? Just an idea...

Here is a suggestion

Since the media is actually stored in the cloud and accessed via a link. In the mean time maybe you could set yappari to print the link in the conversation window -as if the other party just sent a link- when a media other than pictures is received

Or maybe this is already implemented in v 0.0.26?

Thank you for your great work

Sometimes your yappari disconnects and receives * unknown socket error * when someone sends you a picture.

if someone is facing this problem. please change your port from 443 to 5222 which will fix this error !

Now that's funny. Have you tried to sync using 3G connection instead of WiFi?

Error 6 is an SSL error, like for example the SSL certificate from the WhatsApp server can't be certified as genuine by the N900 (which is VERY weird).

I don't think you've been messing with the CA certificates in your N900 so maybe you're in a network that hijacks SSL connections? Some networks from some companies do that to their employees to stop encryption and log everything the employee does (that's legal, since everything you do at work belongs to the company even your internet browsing).

Apart from that, I don't have a clue why you're getting an SSL error.

Well I've always used WIFI only...n this is my home WIFI :| will it make a difference if I try to connect via another WIFI connection?

also, whenever I press 'view' to open a pic for the first time it says that the URL doesn't have a security certificate and i have to add it to view the pics..is this related to the certification issue you mentioned? This too has been occurring only in v0.0.26

Looks like you messed with the SSL Certificates of your phone then? It is VERY related. Does it happen to you with every https URL from the phone?

In your N900: Settings (of the phone) -> Certificate Manager look for the Go Daddy Root Certificate Authoritiy - G2 (that's the one Whatsapp uses). Is it there? Does it say "Certificate not currently valid" or something? (it can't be it expires in the year 2037).

Hi, I have a problem like this, I checked into my N900 Yappari from another SIM and now I have a new SIM card but Yappari are using this number.
How can I delete the old number and register the new?

This have been said SEVERAL times in the thread, at least 5 thousand times. People just don't read anymore.

Anyway delete /home/user/.config/scorpius/yappari.conf
