Oh, when PlayThing's at home where this would be, I have it plugged in at all times.

I have use it extensively for radio listening (and alarming during weekdays).

And now I'm fidgetting with Lastfm.

Yup. PlayThing's indispensible now. I'm thinking the next purchase would be a backup battery and an extra charger that I'd keep at work. Since the wireless network is heavily monitored and passworded up the whazzu, I'd use PlayThing as a picture frame and just run stored podcasts or music behind it.

That's why I would like lotsa lotsa pretty background images and like this thread. Learned about the new statusbar clock and the half-n-half volume/dimmer applet. And seen some neato pictures, too.

Hi all,

here's my rather dull screenshot, especially when compared to many of those already posted here.

I kinda like my screen estate clear of too many applets and icons, but I have definitely started to have a re-think what else I can place there

Basic set of applets and apps;

* Omweather + Omweather Shiny
* Pidgin

Cheers,

That's Pidgin IM (Jabber, MSN, AIM, MySpace IM, and so on, and so on... it handles pretty much everything)

There's already a port of XMMS for the N8x0. do a forum search there's a whole thread on it. I use it every single day and LOVE it!! :d

Now here's my fresh new N810 Spring desktop

And for the record KDE will do changing backgrounds on the N8x0 and doesn't use up any extra CPU (except for the small bit when it's actually swapping the background).
