If money and security is no object.....have to say the N800 just screams on a Checkpoint Safe @ Office....never drops the signal, and you get a treasure trove of security features you can upgrade to on the box.....

You can run DD-WRT, and setup multiple, linked access points with "WDS" .. works great for extending coverage around a large area without running cable.

Okay, I went to Maemo to get wifiinfo but when you click on the link it comes up page cannot be displayed. Any other links to it?

I ended up wiping my N800 the other night after installing Canola2. I ended up with a huge battery drain issue. I went from fully charged, good for 6 hours when I put my N800 to sleep at 11pm to dead battery at 7am the next day. I recharged the battery fully, used it for 30 minutes where I went from 6 hours battery life to 1 hour. I left it to go to sleep and came home from work to a another dead battery. Wiped and reinstalled OS2008 without Canola2 and battery life was back to normal.

I had no problems with my WRT54G, range was fine, for almost a year. But the box itself was falling apart; guess I had dropped it too many times or something. So it is probably working fine even now, but I replaced it with a cheap Dlink something or other, which also works fine with the N800. (I'm using WEP, by the way)

Okay, I finally got WifiInfo installed.
Downstairs signal quality is 40%.
Upstairs within 10 feet of the router signal quality is 59%.
One foot from the router signal quality is 70%.
My N800 connects to the router fine but when it tries to go to a website of download an app it spins it wheels. Yet if I take it to work it seems to work fine. Both are Linskys routers. Work is a G, home is a GS.

Well, I have to share sad news about my Netgear RangeMax NEXT: it died some time last night.

The irritating part is that this is a replacement for one that died last year, and it's now out of warranty. What really annoys me is that this router, when it works, is nothing short of awesome. Very fast, very stable. Worked easily with every device I have. But now that I've gone through two in a short time I can't recommend it any longer.

So for now I'm back on the Actiontec that came with my Verizon FIOS service. It's reliable, but not near as fast as the Netgear. I may look into a Buffalo FON router now that the Netgear is dead... again.
