Same general footprint & design of N900, but:

1. Call, Home and End/Back buttons on the right- looks like plenty of room there.

2. Micro SD slot accessible without removing the delicate cover- card is hot swappable, but what is the point based on the current location?

3. Better freakin' GPRS and wifi radios.

4. USB host

5. Bigger battery option kit (battery and cover).

But PLEASE with imaging sensors from year 2015+ or something. Today's 12+MP sensors in the form factor thats likely to be build in (i.e. max point&shoot form factor) are quite pointless. Today's 8MP(+) sensors in that form factor produce an euqally or better amount of noise (and detail) (viewed fullscreen on the same device), while keeping power consumption and processing times as well as used disk space lower.

Don't do the MP-Race Nokia!

Conclusion: I want max. 8 MP

I'd like to see basically the N800 with the following modifications, all intended to make a pocketable, stylus-oriented, mobile computer/media player:

Change to microSD (2 of them)
Slightly larger screen, still 800 x 480, but smaller form factor
USB OTG without special connectors
Get rid of the camera
No keyboard, no cell connectivity, no phone
Lower price, lighter weight, more power, better throughput to the screen

keeping the size as it is,

-lighter weight
-xenon flash, LED flash (doubling as video light), better camera, higher megapixel count
-4 row keyboard
-shoulder (trigger) buttons like on a console joypad or Nintendo DS
-better processor/gpu without using up more battery power
-more RAM
-even more storage space, and support for more than 1 SD card at a time (perhaps even the rumoured 1TB ones in the works, probably a while away)
-USB, such as plugging in an external harddrive or a hub
-more than 1 SIM card supported at a time, with options to use 1 SIM for data and another for making calls, or 1 for both and alternating between both, or even better, both are active concurrently. Useful for those with 2 phones, or the possibility of easily switching between an international SIM for travellers.
-digital compass

the unrealistic wants:
-run every video file known smoothly and at maximum (huge) resolutions and via TV out, eg run DVD and Blu Ray files with no need for conversion (when there's no time).
-a smaller (tiny) battery that lasts 30 days without a recharge (or more) with constant heavy use, all connections on even at their weakest levels

I'm not including some expected things like:
-portrait mode support
-emulation support such as MAME (hopefully this is coming).

The thread asked what I wanted. And Nokia has a long history of imaging prowess in mobiles. Look at the N90 to N73 to N82 to N86 for image quality improving as well as megapixel rating. This ain't HTC.

Nokia will set the image quality standard again in Q4 2010 with a 12 MP sensor and ateelar optics. They've even partnered with Kodak, possibly for processing algorithms. Nokia has never been in any megapixel war. Its always been about quality. CHeck history and you'll see what I mean.

So for ME, who will usually crop out small parts of an image, 12 megapixels is perfct for now. YMMV.

This might sound weird, but I wish it was the same dimension but slightly heavier...like the E90. That's because when I place it on a table to type an email or SMS, it moves! And I hate that!!!

8mp or 12mp camera
2gb RAM
64gb internal storage, with 32gb or 64gb micro sdhc card support
Flawless OVI Suite integration
OVI Store with no less than 50,000 apps with Maemo support

More later......
