@rash.m2k: what will be better than both android and iphone?
c'mon we're not doing marketing here, let's ease up on the hyperboles and superlatives.

also dont forget .doc is microsofts own format, they dont hand out the specifications to their formats to anyone, thus its even more difficult to create a .doc editor!

Some times a lil hyperbole is needed in order to keep interest and spirits up. its all part of hope and wishful thinking and faith and pixi dust. with out it we are left to deal with the harsh reality. i will cross that harsh reality bridge once i get to it should i be that unfortunate. till then? I AM BETTING OUR OFFICE APP WILL BLOW IPHONES OUT OF THE WATER AND MAKE ANDROID USER LONG FOR A MAEMO DEVICE LIKE MINES!!!!!

Here follow these instructions:

http://wiki.maemo.org/Easy_Debian#Install_instructions:

Basically you need to install that application (for which you need to add the extra-testing repository), and then run that application which will download and install openoffice (i.e. easy debian).

Probably a good idea to plug n900 into the wall socket while you are doing this as it's going to be downloading alot and working alot - in total about an hour so you won't be able to do anything else with your phone during this time.

Once done and openoffice icon will appear - run it and wait for a little while (it takes time as it's a full blown Microsoft Word app like on your dekstop PC)
