With my gtalk and The One Ring constantly connected, and 5-6 email accounts being checked every hour, weather being updated every hour on a 2G or 3G environment, + reading feeds from feedingit and listening to a 40 minute podcast (using panucci) with bluetooth headphones on my commute I get about 12-14 hours. (I stop keeping track after 12 since I'm usually home by then).

TOR is set to poll text messages, every 45 minutes, and voicemail every 60 minutes.

I get 2 days of usage. (Radio on 2G but no active internet connection, 1 hour listening to music and half hour browsing web every day)

Missing option: I don't typically use an IM and I'm constantly getting more than a day of battery life.

Suggestion to forum moderators: force a "this poll sucks" equivalent option on all polls.

and along side the "Thanks" button for each post, please add a "This post is founded on ignorance, please ignore" button!

Also add a "This person didn't read the OP" button. It could come in handy.

Cheers moderators!

Ok, I'll make it more constructive.

When making a poll, if you want to find out one variable (battery life) when another variable is fixed (using IM: yes), you should leave the fixed variable out of the options and ask for the variable of interest only. (E.g. "My battery life with IM active": "More than A", "Less than A")

Two variable poll without covering all possible combinations is likely to have people complain about missing options, and give the poll a trollish look (is your battery life (a) bad, (b) worse).

While your point of not reading the OP is somewhat valid, well, the poll appears on the web page at the top, before the first post describing it. Therefore, it's rather natural to try and answer the poll before reading any comments.

Poll options too narrow to be useful.

i cant really vote on anything.
i have 3g enabled, but wifi isnt enabled constantly. i activate it several times a day as i need it. so all in all, i have a usage of roughly 1-2 hours of internet per day (checking emails, IM, general surfing the web)

my battery lasts 1 full day, roundabout. i disconnect my n900 every morning from the wall at 7 o'clock in the morning. when its around 12 to 1 in the evening (before i go to sleep), i have to connect my n900 to the power again. so the battery lasts around 17-18 hours with every now and then wifi-usage.
