it only opens the lens for a tiny amount of time and is not letting in any light.

the mirror app on the other hand, keeps the lens open, thus more light.

Hmmm... And do you know how to set a little more time to get lens open while taking a picture using gstream?

very interesting stuff.

I have just started writing a tiny spec for an app I wanted to write and it's pretty much similar to what you guys are doing.
basically the features would be like this.
create a dbus script to run when an sms is recieved.
The script checks to see if the sms contains a set code.
If the code is found this is what happens:
1 - gps location is found.
2 - front camera takes a picture
3 - IP is collected
4 - sends an sms with all the data back the orginal sms sender

I'm gonna play with the idea for fun, but interested to see if someone else gets this working before me.
I've never written a maemo app so it will take me ages :-)

Howdy,

I'm using the PyMaemo Phone Call and SMS instructions to try to write a script for sending SMS to a phone number. I don't see where I would specify a phone number in the example provided and it looks like the whole script.

smsiface.Send(msg,'<phone number>') ?

You can use directly the smssend application: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=69661
use some examples found in the phone control wiki page: http://wiki.maemo.org/Phone_control

or you can check the python code in the SMSCON application: http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=60729

hope it helps
