It looks like the delete action syncs with server when you close the inbox.

My current workaround has been to remain in inbox after deleting messages and close connection to Internet. After connection ends, you can close out of inbox and the messages will not be deleted from server.

It is a pain in the ***, but I can be assured I can get the same emails on my laptop.

Please note if you go back to your phone and check messages again before you get to download them to your PC, you must do the same disconnect before close inbox process again. Ff you close inbox before internet you will sync with the server for current deletes as well as previous session deletes - it does a full sync.

Hope this helps some of you while we wait on a delete from server option update.

This is crazy. I'm wondering why some genius added an option "leave on server" which actually should be named "delete on server". Since it worked fine with the former version, this "feature" was added intentionally. Was the engeneer drunk , stoned or both?

This now appears to have a fix ( https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10435 ). When I asked how one might apply this fix, I was told off for not posting in the correct place. Can somebody please tell me how I apply this fix?

For those who haven't got the fix - manual installation can be found here http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p=722013&postcount=1
It also fixes the send and receive bug https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10357
