I don't use a screen protector and it doesn't seem normal to me that I have to use another button to unlock my phone when I'm calling or I'm being called by someone when I'm outside, because this is not normal.

I know it's not normal, my suggestion is just a work around.
If yours misbehaves with out a screen protector then it's worse than most.

Just wanted to add that my proximity sensor also "stopped" working, and I removed proximityd and shortcutd, rebooted the phone and it started working again.

MY RESULT: [ 108.011688] mmc0: cover is open, card is now inaccessible
i try with other cover from another n900 but the result is the same.what should i do?
