It was/is a tech demo. I thought we all knew that?

Well here is my reasoning:

The N900 was made in Korea and the N8 is made in Finland.

My geographical skills tell me that Korea is further away than Finland (I am from the UK), so therefore the transport costs would make the N900 more expensive.

But the only problem is that this theory would only be valid for European, African and possibly American market.

It didn't make any difference to me as both my N8 and N900 are on contract...

More to it than comparing one APE to another APE...
Maybe someone will rip open the N8 to find something missing..

- Why many announcement & applications are not their ( Ovi & Maemo Select ) while other competitors planned for their handsets before releasing them.

with nokias volumes and logistics chain that just works, difference between salo and korea is so small that bigger salaries in salo would mean N8 costs more....

N900 was only made in a smaller Korean factory. N8 is made in Finland and China that's the normal high end combo for Nokia's high end phones.

Finland made phones have sometimes had missing accessory compared to example the China made models. This is not always the case, but with N8 this could be about the touch pen.

I can't see myself buying N8 while it got couple of very nice features and those are something i'm looking from my next phone(HDMI out and great camera), but N8 is still great buy imo. N8 will get steady stream of updates as S^3 evolves to S^4(while the names wont be used anymore). N8 should get the new browser and portrait qwerty this year already as other S^3 phones.

It does make a difference, both your phones end up much more expensive in the end.
