Ioan, did you see my message about the POIs? Could you figure out what's wrong?

Cezary, thanks for the good looking stuff!

Would it be possible to add the nice features from Armin's version - switching between streetmaps and satellite maps - to your version?

Hi,

if you want to refresh all currently stored map tiles in your
Maemo-Mapper's cache directory with fresh Google maps or
satellite images, you might find these two skripts useful:
http://armin-warda.de/refresh_maps
http://armin-warda.de/refresh_sats
This program is necessary for the 'refresh_sats' script:
http://armin-warda.de/map_convert_co...dtree_string.c

Armin.

I just got the replacement for my broken GPSlim 236 - they confirmed it wasn't working and tried to fix it by uploading a new firmware, which also didn't work, so I got a new one.

Now we're talking! I can finally really appreciate maemo-mapper!

Now for some feedback: I've been comparing the version of Cezary to the one from Armin;

What's good about Cezary's version: the full sat info, I like this view a lot:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...tachmentid=166

What's not so good: the time info it shows seems to be wrong, 25hrs something can't be correct. Furthermore, it's quite jumpy and the number of sats in use doesn't always correspond to the graph.

Armin's version has the switching between the street maps and sat maps implemented - really cool, this may make a big difference in some cases, such as hiking...

Since I like both versions, I just implemented a quick switch script to link to the version I feel like at the moment...

Thanks for the great work, and that naturally goes for John / gnuite as well!

Yep, I saw this bug and fixed it in last version. Armin should build new binary
