Anyone making a portrait mode for the power button menu from the desktop? (just make it look like the power button menu inside an app). I'm surprised this is not included but the status menu is.

The status menu is open source (hildon-status-menu).
The power button menu is closed source :-(

Is it (power button menu) part of something bigger what is closed source (like original lockscreen) or is it separate and possible to easly re-make it?

part of something bigger.

powerkey-menu is a plugin for osso-systemui.
There are other closed source plugins for
devicelock, alarm, emergency call, tklock ...

I actually thinkthought both lockscreen and power key menu are part of the "systemui" thing. (Not sure about that 100% though.)

Yes, lockscreen (tklock) and powerkey menu are both
systemui plugins.
