Set your OSD level to 1 in Mplayer and the counter should disappear.

Settings > OSD

Sorry to be dumb but do you mean I would add something like

OSD=1

to my /.mplayer/config file?

Sorry, it should be:

osdlevel=0 in the config file. I'm not sure if you want default subtitles or not, but 0 for no subs, 1 for subs (if available) and no time remaining details.

Thanks, but that doesn't work for the myTube videos. All of my other Divx videos don't have the counter by default (no changed needed to /.mplayer/config file.

Regardless, I have found a work around - but it only works for N810 users - if you press the "o" key on the keyboard it will toggle the counter on/off

@ iancumihai - So when are we going to get to enjoy this black theme? Any screen shots?

On the N800, press the menu key to the left side of the tablet. This brings up the Mplayer OSD Menu. Using the scroll keys on the left side of the tablet, select "Settings" then "OSD level". Use the right/left scroll keys to set the level to 1. Use the "back" key to exit the menus.

bump... Can mytube let me search for just google video stuff? Most of the good documentaries are on google video and youtube is for the short-attention-span generation :/

(edit) I upgraded from 0.0.8 to 0.1.1 and click on any video and get the following output

dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
dirty me !
... ad infinitum

It was a bob dylan video btw.
