In xterm as root, just type: kernel-config load ulv then press enter
for other settings replace ulv with lv, xlv, or ideal

thanks again.

quite unlikely. I can't think of any changes that would affect the "idle" state.
note that the battery measurements are not accurate but non-linear and non-monotonic.
the best test would be to charge to 100% and let the battery completely drain under identical conditions.

All settings are similar when tested v34 and v27.
Could this latest kernel update cause more current to be drain from battery?

So you must have some script (maybe the one recently posted that changes profiles based on temperature) or widget that changes the profiles.
Thanks so much for the idea that solved it. I have a few Queen Beecon widgets on desktop and that was what was resetting it back to original settings.Should have thought about that but did check and none where set to active unless clicked and not automatic scripts.
Cheers anyways Titan great work as usual and sorry for been a dunce I guess I was trying to over complicate it by delving too far into the code when it was there in plain site.

hi, i just set my kernel to ULV.

I noticed that when i reboot my n900, even before it was set to ULV, it was set to IDEAL, that sometimes i get an error message saying ' an accidental reboot was occured, your custom kernal was not loaded'

why am i getting this?

all i did was type in 'reboot' into xterminal.

but sometimes i get it when i actually turn it off and on again.

any help please?
thanks

Good to know. I'll do more testing during coming nights with fully loaded battery and with identical conditions. I'll let you know if results between kernel versions differs again from each other.

So far no other issues with v34

what are the error messages you get when downloading or reverting back to stock kernel?
Thanks for your response.

Firstly, i have followed all the instructions on 'Kernel Power' and Jakimans wiki in terms of trouble shooting and de-installation. I dont have the Leaked PR1.2 installed.

whenever i attemp the apt-get for the kernels or reverting to stock i get the following

Dpkg: parse error, in file ‘var/lib/dpkg/available’ near line 1282 package ‘mp-fremantle-002-pr’:
‘Depends’ field, reference to ‘libsignonui-11n-ese’: version contains ` ‘
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)

4. reboot
note: This does not touch the overclocked kernel. So can be done with either modded or non-modded kernel. Only updates the version information.

hi, geneven!
Thanks for the info!
Unfortunately it still has not worked.
xterminal reports:
Couldn't find package mp-freemantle-*
Will it prevent the phone updating to the new software if it ever comes out for real?
